a tiny speck

makes the eye burn

redden, itch

blinding tears well up

a black particle

clouds my mind over

driving me to darkness

despair.

this black (w)hole

blinds mke from Seeing.

good one, pithy...but its a little vague...one suggestion...before u post any poems, pls make sure the spellings r all right...its looks very bad to see mis-spellings while reading...its jarring

ok, yes, I agree, typing errors are unforgivable, I mustn't have noticed it. a li'l vague... well... yeah, sometime you can make of a poem what you want to. I was talking about how a tiny black speck makes the whole picture seem black, just as a tiny particle causes pain in the whole eye...

I wanna disagree with the other commenter. Poems are reflections of the poets' feelings. What may be very specific, with subliminal pain or pleasure, to the writer, might appear vague to the reader. You just have to interpret, or dare and ask...

Which is what I will do. It's almost criminal to assume or try to interpret in this one's case. Dare I request and explanation, oh ye one with the quill!?

Varun,
your posts bring a smile to my face!! :)
I am so glad you bother to read my blog...
well, what I meant was that just like a tiny particle causes pain in my whole eye and bluts my whole vision, similarly, one negative thing seems to loom large in my life and even take over the brighter things, so my vision in all blurred, because of that one particle, I can't see the rest of the picture either. is it clear now?? is the poem really unclear?? :(

Hey... it's not unclear. It's just that it's open to a lot of interpretation (which is perfect). The reason I asked is that I really wanted to know what was beneath the surface of this one. :-)

I'd like to hear your interpretations... sometimes, it can be pretty interesting :)

most of my poems are so blatantly obvious, I've always thought that it isn't such a good thing, probably...

Well it's style! Your poems are not BLATANTLY obvious for me. Sometimes I have to get the nuts and bolts in the cranium a little tightened :-)

On the other hand, if you read some of my poems, you'll realise that they are anything but obvious. They're twisted and cryptic. While people who read (and share a similar feeling) can tell what's the subliminal thought in them, they find it hard to decipher when I make specific references. It's something I've been panned form but what the heck... it's style! :-)
